Stitt's career included stints with notable bands such as Tiny Bradshaw and Billy Eckstine, as well as collaborations with jazz legends like Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis. He recorded prolifically in the '50s and '60s, producing acclaimed albums like Stitt Plays Bird and Tune Up. Stitt's lasting impact on jazz was cut short by his untimely death in 1982.
