Biography

Formed in 1995 in Santa Barbara by Lynn Strait and Mike Doling, Snot quickly gained popularity in the L.A. area leading to a record deal with Geffen Records. Their debut album "Get Some" in 1997 showcased their hardcore metal sound, blending punk and metal influences. Despite facing challenges with their debut release and label uncertainties after a merger, the band continued to work on new music until tragedy struck in 1998 when Lynn Strait was killed in a car accident.

Following Strait's death, Snot released "Strait Up" as a tribute album featuring guest vocals from various artists. The album served as a symbol of the outpouring of grief and support from the music community. Members of Snot went on to pursue other musical endeavors, with Fahnestock joining Amen and Doling signing with Soulfly, marking the end of Snot's journey but leaving behind a legacy of Strait's magnetic spirit and influence on the alternative music scene.
