Hailing from Melbourne, the quintet Snakadaktal crafted a unique sound that combined chillwave, dream pop, and indie electronic elements with boy-girl vocals and quirky conceptual nuances. Drawing comparisons to acts like the xx and Empire of the Sun, the band released their eponymous debut EP in 2011 through the Australian indie label I Oh You. Their debut album, Sleep in the Water, followed in 2013, receiving critical acclaim before the band ultimately disbanded. A posthumous EP titled Treasures (2010-2014) featuring demos and unreleased material was released the following year, showcasing the band's brief yet impactful musical journey.
