Slipmatt, a key figure in the early-'90s rave scene, transitioned hardcore techno towards a more artist-oriented direction, leading the happy hardcore movement in the late '90s. Born in Essex, he honed his love for music early on and made his mark with the hit singles "Do That Dance" and "On a Ragga Tip" as part of the duo SL2. Despite SL2 disbanding, Slipmatt continued to champion the positive vibes of rave by founding Universal, Awesome, and United Dance Records, shaping the evolution of happy hardcore.
