Silver Apples

Decades after their groundbreaking career came to a mysterious end, the Silver Apples remain a pop music enigma, blending interstellar drones, pulsing rhythms, and electronic melodies ahead of their time. Formed in 1967 by Simeon Coxe and Danny Taylor, the duo incorporated innovative audio oscillators into their music, leading to the creation of the Simeon instrument. Despite early commercial struggles, they released albums like "Contact" and "The Garden" before disbanding in 1970, only to resurface in the '90s with renewed interest and new band members.

The Silver Apples' resurgence in the '90s saw Coxe reuniting with Taylor and releasing new material like "Beacon" and "Decatur," as well as collaborating with other artists. Despite Taylor's passing in 2005, Coxe continued to tour and create music, collaborating with various musicians and releasing albums like "Clinging to a Dream" in 2016. Coxe passed away in 2020, leaving behind a legacy of daring experimentation and musical innovation.
