Biography

Shurik'n, a member of the renowned French rap group IAM, achieved chart-topping success with his solo debut album in 1998. Born Geoffroy Mussard in Marseille, he co-founded IAM in the late '80s with fellow members Akhenaton, Freeman, Khéops, Imhotep, and Kephren. IAM's breakout single "Je Danse le Mia" from their album Ombre Est Lumière (1993) propelled them to fame, leading to successful solo careers for its members. Shurik'n's solo album Où Je Vis (1998) topped the charts and produced hit singles "La Garde Meurt Mais Ne Se Rend Pas" and "J'leve Mon Verre," followed by collaborations with his brother Faf Larage on the album La Garde (2000).

In the following years, Shurik'n reunited with IAM for hit albums like Revoir un Printemps (2004) and Saison 5 (2007), as well as the acclaimed live recording Live au Dôme de Marseille (2005). The success of IAM's albums and Shurik'n's solo ventures solidified their status as trailblazers in the French rap scene, with their innovative music and chart-topping hits captivating audiences both locally and internationally.
