Biography

Spanish pop singer Sergio Dalma, born Josep Sergi Capdevila Querol, discovered his love for R&B music early on, influenced by artists like James Brown. Hailing from Sabadell near Barcelona, Dalma began his music career by singing in his school chorus and later formed a band with classmates. Debuting professionally in 1989 with Esa Chica Es Mia, he gained recognition with hits like "Bailar Pegados" at the Eurovision Song Contest and "Ave Lucia" in the early '90s.

Dalma's career soared in the late '90s and early 2000s, with successful releases in Spain leading up to his breakthrough album A Buena Hora in 2008. Collaborating with producer Claudio Guidetti, Dalma achieved chart-topping success with his Via Dalma series, featuring Spanish versions of popular Italian songs. Celebrating 30 years in music in 2020, Dalma released Sergio Dalma 30 y Tanto, a collection of his most beloved songs reinterpreted.
