Before their musical partnership, Salt and Pepa grew up in different New York City boroughs but found common ground through their mutual love for hip-hop, eventually forming their iconic group.
Under the guidance of Hurby ΓÇ£Luv BugΓÇ¥ Azor, Salt-N-Pepa, initially known as Super Nature, made waves with their debut single ΓÇ£The Showstopper,ΓÇ¥ which caught the attention of DJ and producer Marley Marl and led to the addition of DJ Spinderella to the group.
