Biography

Rosendo Mercado Ruiz, commonly known as Rosendo, is a Spanish rock musician born in Madrid on February 23, 1954. Having learned guitar at a young age, he left engineering school to pursue a full-time music career. Rosendo initially joined a cover band called Fresa, which later evolved into the popular Spanish rock band Nu. In 1977, he left Nu due to conflicts and formed his own group, Leño, releasing successful albums such as "Leño" and "Mas Madera" before the band disbanded in 1983. Rosendo then launched a solo career with the album "Loco por Incordiar" in 1985, earning recognition for his prolific output and enduring influence in Spanish music.

Throughout the '80s and '90s, Rosendo continued to release albums despite some initial criticism, eventually receiving the Medalla de Oro al Merito en las Bellas Artes in 2006. His lasting impact on the Spanish rock scene was further solidified with the release of "El Endemico Enbustero y el Incauto Pertinaz" in 2007. Rosendo's dedication to music and consistent creativity over the years have cemented his status as a revered figure in Spanish rock history.
