Maria de los Angeles de las Heras Ortíz, known professionally as Rocío Durcal, was a Spanish actress and singer born into a working-class family. She began her music career at a young age, participating in festivals and radio contests before being discovered by producer Luis Sanz at the age of 15. Taking on the stage name Rocío Durcal, she achieved success in the 1960s with albums like Mis 19 Canciones de Juventud and Siempre, and later ventured into ranchera and romantic ballads. Durcal collaborated with renowned songwriters such as Juan Carlos Calderon, Roberto Livi, and Marco Antonio Solís. She passed away in Madrid on March 25, 2006, after battling cancer.

Throughout her career, Rocío Durcal toured extensively in countries like Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and the U.S., and collaborated with artists like Juan Gabriel. In the early '70s, she toured with her husband, singer Antonio Morales. Durcal's versatile music style and collaborations with prominent songwriters solidified her legacy as a respected figure in the Spanish music industry.
