London-based composer and instrumentalist Andy Baxter is the mastermind behind the experimental solo/collaborative project 'Robohands.' Initially starting as a side project to explore drumming techniques, 'Robohands' has since evolved into a composition-focused endeavor, with Baxter releasing four studio albums so far. His fifth album, 'Palms' (2023, Bastard Jazz Recordings), is part of a planned seven-album series. 'Robohands' has performed at prestigious venues such as the Camden Jazz Cafe and headlined shows in London, Brighton, Lisbon, and the Montreal Jazz Festival in July 2024, showcasing a fusion of sonic influences ranging from the late 1950s to the early 1990s.

Baxter's latest album under the 'Robohands' moniker, 'Palms,' continues his exploration of vintage analog sounds with a modern twist, drawing inspiration from saturated tape recordings of the late 60s and 70s. Released in October 2023, the LP features seventeen tracks where Baxter handles drums, guitar, bass, keys, and mixing duties. Following the success of his EP 'Giallo' in 2022, Baxter's musical journey with 'Robohands' exemplifies his versatile skills and experimental approach to sound manipulation and composition.
