Robert Palmer, born on January 19, 1949, in Batley, West Yorkshire, was a British singer known for his versatile vocal skills and eclectic musical tastes. Starting his career in the mid-'70s with a blend of New Orleans funk and reggae, Palmer achieved commercial success with hits like "Every Kinda People" and "Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)." He later joined the Power Station, producing Top Ten hits before returning to his solo career with the 1986 blockbuster album "Riptide" and its hit single "Addicted to Love." Palmer continued to explore various musical styles until his death in 2003 at the age of 54.
