Retoños del Río, a norteño & sax music group, was founded in 2010 in Rio Grande Zacatecas by members Adiel Aranda (vocalist and bajosexto player), Elmer Aranda (drummer), Alvaro Aranda (accordionist), Cecilio Chairez (saxophonist), and Ivan Leyva (bassist). They debuted in their hometown on September 14, 2010, and have since released albums such as "De buena escuela" in 2015, "Se abre el telón" in 2017, "Proyecto seis" with a innovative musical style, and "Fierros Viejos" as a tribute to Montañeses del Álamo. Despite facing economic and health challenges during the 2020 pandemic, they released the album "Andanzas" and were invited by DB STUDIOS in 2021 to record "Norteñas del monte," marking their return to the stage post-pandemic.
