Biography

Redbone, a Los Angeles-based band led by Native American siblings Pat and Lolly Vegas, gained success in the early 1970s with hits like "Maggie," "The Witch Queen of New Orleans," and "Come and Get Your Love," which peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100. Despite this being their last major hit, Redbone continued to record and perform intermittently before being inducted into the Native American Music Awards Hall of Fame in 2008. Their song "Come and Get Your Love" experienced a resurgence in popularity in 2014 when it was featured in the film Guardians of the Galaxy, introducing their music to a new generation.

Originally working under their own names, Pat and Lolly Vegas formed Redbone, an all-Native band, in the late 1960s at the suggestion of Jimi Hendrix. With their unique blend of rock, soul, and Native American influences, Redbone quickly found success in the music industry, achieving platinum status with "Come and Get Your Love." Despite their commercial peak being short-lived, the band's impact on music history was solidified by their distinctive sound and cultural representation within the industry.
