Biography
Red Lorry Yellow Lorry emerged from Leeds in 1981, presenting a unique blend of icy post-punk with elements of industrial dance and acid-tinged guitar work. Initially formed by Chris Reed and Mark Sweeney, the group underwent lineup changes and signed with Red Rhino, releasing singles that propelled them to indie chart success. Their debut album, Talk About the Weather, solidified their standing in the alternative music scene.
In the mid-80s, the band underwent further lineup changes and signed with major label Situation Two, releasing Nothing Wrong in 1988. Their sound evolved towards rave culture on Blow in 1989, showcasing a spacious production style. Despite subsequent lineup shifts, the band continued to release music until disbanding in the early 90s, leaving behind a legacy in the goth rock genre.
