Biography
Real Friends, an emo punk-pop group hailing from Tinley Park, Illinois, formed in 2010 by Kyle Fasel and Dave Knox. Drawing inspiration from bands like Brand New and the Starting Line, the band's introspective songs often touch on themes of mental health and moving forward. With vocalist Dan Lambton and drummer Brian Blake, the band self-released their debut EP This Is Honesty in 2011, followed by several more EPs leading up to their 2014 debut album Maybe This Place Is the Same and We're Just Changing, which charted at number 24 on the Billboard 200. Real Friends continued their success with the release of The Home Inside My Head in 2016, showcasing more personal and emotionally impactful material.
