Accordionist Ram├│n Ayala, son of musician Ram├│n Covarrubias, began playing the accordion at a young age with the support of his parents. He started his musical career with bands such as Los Jilgueros de Marin and Los Pavoreales before forming Relampagos del Norte with Cornelio Reyna. After Reyna's passing, the band became known as Los Bravos del Norte, also billed as Ramon Ayala y Sus Bravos del Norte, and released numerous albums, including a tribute to Reyna.
From 1998 to 2016, Los Bravos del Norte, led by Ayala, maintained a busy recording and touring schedule, releasing over 60 titles on labels such as Freddie Records, Rosita, P&G Music, and Fonovisia. Their discography featured a variety of traditional norte├▒o music styles, including love songs, rancheras, corridos, and dances.
