Biography

Renowned as a talented rapper, producer, and actor, Q-Tip gained fame as a member of the groundbreaking hip-hop trio A Tribe Called Quest, which he co-founded in 1988. Known for their socially progressive lyrics and innovative fusion of rap and jazz, the group released influential albums like The Low End Theory and Midnight Marauders before disbanding in 1998. Q-Tip ventured into a successful solo career with the release of Amplified in 1999, featuring hit singles like "Vivrant Thing" and "Breathe and Stop."

In addition to his solo work, Q-Tip collaborated with various artists and produced for big names like Kanye West and Beyoncé. A Tribe Called Quest reunited in 2016 to record their sixth album, We Got It from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service, which received critical acclaim and topped the Billboard 200. Following the passing of Phife Dawg, the group performed their final concert in 2017, with Q-Tip continuing to expand his musical legacy through collaborations like the cover of Elton John's "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" with Demi Lovato.
