Prinz Pi

PRINZ PI, born Friedrich Kautz in 1979 in Berlin, grew up in the western part of the city during the era of American influence, navigating through the streets filled with American cars and seeking out coveted sneakers and music from the USA. In the mid-90s, hip-hop from the West Coast collided into Friedrich's life with the force of a meteor, coinciding with his adolescence and the realization that those around him came from significantly wealthier backgrounds. Immersing himself in the Berlin graffiti scene, exploring abandoned houses in the former Eastern districts, and confronting authority figures became part of his daily routine, leading him to channel his experiences into songwriting rather than conventional literature after school.

Despite facing rejection due to the unconventional nature of his lyrics that didn't align with typical hip-hop themes, PRINZ PI crafted a unique voice through his music over the years. While his style didn't fit the mold of the standard rap narrative filled with criminality and chauvinism, he managed to grace the cover of Juice, Germany's premier hip-hop magazine, six times, showcasing his impact on the genre and his ability to stand out from the crowd.
