Formed in 1983, Princess Princess quickly rose to fame in Japan during the late '80s with a streak of five consecutive Number 1 singles. The band, consisting of Kaori Kishitani, Kanako Nakayama, Atsuko Watanabe, Tomoko Konno, and Kyōko Tomita, released their debut single "Koi wa Balance" in 1987, followed by their successful debut album Teleportation. Their hit albums Here We Are and Lovers, along with multiple chart-topping singles like "Diamonds," "Oh Yeah!", and "Kiss," cemented their status as one of Japan's best-selling acts. Despite disbanding in 1996, Princess Princess's music continued to resonate with audiences, as evidenced by the enduring popularity of hits like "Sekaide Ichiban Atsui Natsu."
