Ken Hirai is a Japanese singer known for his classic R&B and soul style, blending elements of jazz, funk, and hip-hop. He began his music career in the early '90s, signing with Sony in 1993. Hirai gained popularity with his third studio album, The Changing Same, in 2000, which sold over 1 million copies. He continued to release successful albums and singles throughout the early 2000s, including the hit "Hitomi Wo Tojite."

After a brief hiatus, Hirai returned to the music scene in 2007 and continued to release new music, including the album Fakin' Pop in 2008. Throughout his career, he has sold close to 14 million CDs and has performed internationally, solidifying his status as a top artist in the Japanese music scene and East Asia.
