Biography

Pinback, primarily driven by the collaboration between Armistead Burwell Smith IV and Rob Crow, emerged as a prominent force in postmodern indie pop on the West Coast in the late '90s. Initially conceived as a side project, Pinback solidified into a full-fledged band with the addition of drummer Tom Zinsor and released their debut album in 1999 after overcoming contractual obstacles. The band's subsequent releases, including Some Voices EP and Blue Screen Life, showcased their evolution towards a more refined and melodic indie sound.

Continuing to refine their intricate song structures and indie pop sensibilities, Pinback released several albums in the following years, culminating in their 2012 record, Information Retrieved.
