Pete Townshend

Pete Townshend, known for his role as guitarist and primary songwriter for the Who from 1964 to 1982, wrote iconic albums like Tommy and Quadrophenia. He ventured into solo work with albums like Who Came First and achieved commercial success with Empty Glass in 1980, featuring hits like "Let My Love Open the Door." Townshend continued his solo career with albums like All the Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes and explored thematic works with releases like White City: A Novel in 1985.

Following the Who's reunion in 1996, Townshend continued to work with the band, releasing the album Endless Wire in 2006. The group embarked on a 50th-anniversary tour in 2015, coinciding with Townshend's release of Classic Quadrophenia, a symphonic reimagining of his classic rock opera.
