Biography

Mexican pop-punk band PXNDX was formed in 1996 by friends Pepe (José Madero) and Rix (Ricardo Treviño), who left their grunge band to create music inspired by bands like Alkaline Trio and blink-182. Pepe on vocals and rhythm guitar, Rix on bass, and joined by guitarist Ongi (Jorge Garza) and drummer Chunky (David Castillo). After Chunky's departure, Kross (Jorge Vázquez) joined as the new drummer. The band signed with Movic Records and released their debut album "Arroz con Leche" in 2000, followed by a nationwide tour.

In subsequent years, PXNDX released albums like "La Revancha del Principe Charro" in 2001 and "Para Ti con Despecio" in 2005, showcasing their signature power-chord-driven punk sound. Despite lineup changes, including Ongi's departure and Arturo Arrendondo joining as lead guitarist, the band continued to find success. Their fourth studio album, "Amantes Sunt Amentes," released in 2006, earned them three awards at the MTV Latin American Music Awards, including Best Band and Best Alternative Artist.
