Ozric Tentacles emerged in 1983, blending jazz fusion and space rock influences to become a key player in the '70s cosmic rock revival of the '90s. Their early years saw the band evolve through various lineup changes, leading to landmark releases like 1990's Erpland and 1991's Strangeitude. Despite challenges with U.S. audiences, the band continued to innovate, culminating in albums like 1995's Become the Other and 2004's Spirals in Hyperspace, showcasing founder Ed Wynne's leadership and the group's enduring creativity. After a brief hiatus, the band returned with a revitalized approach in 2016 with Technicians of the Sacred, followed by the release of their 16th studio album, Space for the Earth, in 2020.

Throughout their career, Ozric Tentacles navigated musical shifts and personal challenges, including the tragic loss of founding member Roly Wynne in 1999.
