Biography

Orleans, founded in 1972 in New York by John Hall, Larry Hoppen, and Wells Kelly, gained recognition with hits like "Still the One" and "Dance with Me." The group's early success with ABC Records led to their self-titled debut in 1973, followed by the release of Let There Be Music in 1974 through Asylum Records. After Hall's departure in 1977, Orleans faced lineup changes but continued to produce music, including the hit "Love Takes Time" from the album Forever in the early '80s.

Despite various challenges, Orleans persevered through the '80s and '90s, with Hall eventually rejoining the band after pursuing a solo career and political ambitions. Tragedy struck in 2012 with the passing of Larry Hoppen, marking a significant loss for the group. Orleans continued to tour and release new music into the 2000s, maintaining their legacy in the music industry.
