Omar Ruiz

Omar Ruiz, a pioneering figure in the world of provocative narcocorrido music, hails from the border regions of Mexico and the United States. Born in Nogales, Sonora, he honed his musical talents in various locations, including Chicago and Los Angeles. Ruiz's independent debut album, La Ultima Batalla y Las Monitas, released in 2012, marked the beginning of his rise to prominence beyond the narcocorrido underground scene. His subsequent releases, such as Corridos Anonymous and La Santita, further solidified his reputation as a boundary-pushing artist.

Ruiz's breakout hit "El Quesito" in 2015 propelled him onto the Regional Mexican and Hot Latin Songs charts, garnering attention from industry heavyweights like Badsin Records. His subsequent tracks, including a re-recording of "El Americano," continued to climb the charts, leading up to the release of his debut album, Asi Es La Vida, in 2016.
