Biography
Nyla Thorbourne, hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, kickstarted her music career through her involvement with Jamaica's Music Theatre Company before forming the reggae/R&B group Brick & Lace in 2004 with her sisters Nyanda and Tasha. Under Akon's Kon Live label, Brick & Lace released their debut album, "Love Is Wicked," in 2007, leading to international tours and hits like "Done It to Me" and "Take Me Back." After a hiatus in 2011, the sisters ventured into songwriting as Bloodline, crafting hits for artists like J-Lo and Christina Aguilera before disbanding to pursue solo endeavors.
Nyla has since explored a solo career blending pop, R&B, and reggae, releasing singles like "Stand Up" and "Body Calling." Collaborating with producers from Jamaica, she teamed up with Major Lazer for the track "Light It Up" in 2016, solidifying her presence on global music charts.
