Biography

Carbon Based Lifeforms, a Swedish ambient duo formed in 1996 by Daniel Ringström and Johannes Hedberg, started with their 1998 album "The Path," initially released under the Notch moniker. Transitioning to Carbon Based Lifeforms, they signed with Ultimae Records in 2002, debuting with "Hydroponic Garden" in 2003, followed by "World of Sleepers" in 2006. The duo's evolution saw a shift to beatless ambient music in 2011 with "Twentythree," and a venture into soundtracking with the release of the suspense-thriller "Refuge" in 2013 under Leftfield Records. Signing with Blood Music in 2015, they began remastering older works for vinyl release, showcasing their diverse musical journey.
