Biography

Noah and the Whale rose to prominence in the British folk scene with their 2008 debut album Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down, featuring the hit single "5 Years Time." Originally formed in Twickenham in 2006, the band's lineup included vocalist Charlie Fink, fiddle player Tom Hobden, and bassist Matt Owens. While Laura Marling left the group in 2008, the band continued to evolve their sound with subsequent albums like The First Days of Spring and Last Night on Earth, showcasing a departure from their folk roots.

Following Marling's departure, Noah and the Whale experimented with new sounds, incorporating electronic influences on Last Night on Earth after drummer Doug Fink left the band. They later recruited Michael Petulla on drums and released their fourth album, Heart of Nowhere, in 2013. Throughout their career, the band has maintained a successful chart presence and continued to captivate audiences with their evolving musical style.
