Nino D'Angelo, born Gaetano D'Angelo on June 21, 1957 in San Pietro a Patierno, a suburb of Naples, is a singer-songwriter, actor in theater and film, and music and theater producer. Known for his versatile artistic talents, he is a prominent figure in Neapolitan culture. Growing up in a working-class family as the eldest of six children, Nino developed his passion for music from his maternal grandfather, a lover of Neapolitan music. He gained recognition by participating in new voice festivals and became a singer at the "Galleria Umberto" in Naples.

In 1976, with the support of his family, Nino released his first single, "’A storia mia (’O scippo)", which garnered widespread acclaim and marked the beginning of his successful career in music. He later ventured into acting in the early 1980s, starring in films such as "Celebrità", "Lo studente", "L’Ave Maria", and "Tradimento e Giuramento", solidifying his position as a revolutionary figure in the new Neapolitan song movement. One of his biggest hits, "Nu Jeans e ‘na Maglietta" in 1981, further established him as a groundbreaking artist in the Neapolitan music scene.
