Biography

Nine Days, formed on Long Island by singers/songwriters/guitarists John Hampson and Brian Desveaux, had previously collaborated in local bands. The band was completed by Jeremy Dean on keyboard, Nick Dimichino on bass, and Vincent Tattanelli on drums. Hampson and Desveaux, focusing on songwriting and shared vocals, honed their craft in Hampson's apartment before self-releasing their debut album and starting live performances. They garnered success in local competitions, independently recorded a second CD, and eventually signed with Epic/550 Music to release their major-label debut album, The Madding Crowd, in May 2000.
