Biography

Formed in 1968, Scottish hard rock band Nazareth gained popularity in the late '70s with hits like "Love Hurts." The quartet, consisting of vocalist Dan McCafferty, guitarist Manny Charlton, bassist Pete Agnew, and drummer Darrell Sweet, released their self-titled debut album in 1971 and achieved success with albums like Razamanaz (1973) and Hair of the Dog (1975), which sold over a million copies in the U.S.

In the late '70s, Nazareth added guitarist Zal Cleminson and later keyboardist John Locke to their lineup, but faced declining commercial success by the mid-'80s. After a hiatus, the band returned with albums like No Jive (1992) and Boogaloo (1999). Over the years, Nazareth continued to release new music, with their 24th studio album Tattooed on My Brain, featuring vocalist Carl Sentance, released in 2018 to mark their 50th anniversary as a band.
