Myztro, also known as Tshiamiso Sekowe, is a prominent figure in the amapiano genre, hailing from Pretoria, Soshanguve. Beginning his musical journey at a young age as a drummer and pianist, he later transitioned to DJing and producing in the mid-2010s. By the early 2020s, Myztro gained recognition for his collaborations with artists like Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa, but it was his partnership with Felo Le Tee on tracks like “66” and “Dipatje Tsa Felo” that propelled him to the forefront of the music scene, leading him to pioneer sub-cultures and influence sonics from his hometown.
In his debut EP '012 Nkwari' in 2022, Myztro showcased his blend of bacardi house and amapiano, further solidifying his status with tracks like “Tobetsa” and the 'Nkwari' EP. The following year, he released a series of viral street anthems and helped create the 'quantum sound' with artists signed to his label, Kgaday, such as Xduppy, ShaunMusiq, and Ftears. Together, they pushed boundaries with hard-hitting, bass-driven amapiano tracks, establishing Myztro as a key player in shaping the genre's evolution.
