Mystikal rose to prominence as a prominent rapper in the Dirty South, breaking away from the clichés of Master P's No Limit label. Starting with his debut album in 1995, Mystikal quickly gained recognition, signing with Jive Records and releasing successful albums like Mind of Mystikal and Unpredictable. His album Let's Get Ready, featuring the hit single "Shake Ya Ass," showcased his diverse musical talents and broadened his appeal to a wider audience.

Despite his success, Mystikal faced legal troubles, serving a prison term from 2004 to 2010 and experiencing setbacks in his music career. Collaborations with artists like Fiend and Lloyd, as well as performances at festivals, marked his return to the music scene. However, ongoing legal issues prevented the release of a seventh album, leaving Mystikal's future in the music industry uncertain.
