Originally from Mie Prefecture, Ms. OOJA serves as the Mie Tourism Ambassador and Yokkaichi Tourism Ambassador. She made her major debut with the single "It's OK" under Universal Sigma on February 16, 2011. Following this, her 5th single "Be..." was chosen as the theme song for the TBS Friday drama "Renai NEET ~Wasureta Koi no Hajimekata~" starring Yukie Nakama in early 2012. The song achieved nationwide power play on 50 TV and radio stations, won four titles on the Recochoku 2012 first-half ranking, and surpassed 1 million downloads. Her 2nd album "HEART," featuring the hit song "Be...," debuted at number one on the Oricon Album Daily Chart and exceeded 100,000 copies sold.
In addition to her original songs, Ms. OOJA's cover songs have gained immense popularity, transcending generations. Her "Nagashi no OOJA" series, focusing on cover songs in the enka genre, includes hits like "Mayonaka no Door ~Stay with me~" by Miki Matsubara, "Plastic Love" by Mariya Takeuchi, and "Wine Red no Kokoro" by Anzen Chitai, garnering significant acclaim. Known for her silky voice possessing the healing "1/f fluctuation" characteristic akin to Utada Hikaru and Hibari Misora, Ms. OOJA continues to enchant audiences with her music and live performances.
