Mr. Fingers

Larry Heard, known as Mr. Fingers, is a pioneering musician from Chicago credited with creating deep house music. Under the alias Mr. Fingers, Heard released instrumental singles starting in 1985, blending lush synth pads with four-to-the-floor beat patterns and incorporating elements like acid basslines and jazzy keyboards. He also collaborated with vocalists in the project Fingers Inc. before transitioning to release albums under his own name. After a hiatus, Mr. Fingers was revived in the 2010s, leading to the albums "Cerebral Hemispheres" in 2018 and the two-part "Around the Sun" in 2022-2023.

Larry Heard's musical journey began with playing multiple instruments and performing in various bands before venturing into solo production in the mid-1980s. His iconic track "Can You Feel It" gained popularity under both Mr. Fingers and Fingers Inc., showcasing Heard's knack for blending soulful vocals with intricate electronic productions.
