Mr. Easy

Mr. Easy, born Ian Dyer, immigrated from Jamaica to Brooklyn where he honed his singing skills inspired by artists like Dennis Brown and Beres Hammond. He gained recognition after impressing producer Barry Dread and winning over a tough audience at Showtime at the Apollo, becoming the first reggae singer to perform on the show. Quincy Jones signed him to Qwest label, leading to the release of his debut album "Call Me Mr. Easy" in 1994.

Establishing his career by 1995, Mr. Easy collaborated with producers like Dave "Rude Boy" Kelly and Sting International, touring with artists like Shaggy and Rayvon. He later joined the Alias crew, performing hits like "Murder" and "Funny Man." In 1998, he worked with Beres Hammond and in 1999 teamed up with Hammond's nephew on the reggae track "You Got to Be Strong."
