Moloko

Sheffield-based dance-pop duo Moloko formed in 1994 when Irish-born singer Roisin Murphy caught the attention of mixer/producer Mark Brydon with the now-famous line, "Do you like my tight sweater?" Their creative and romantic partnership led to the release of their debut single and signing with Echo Records.

Moloko's music combined dance, funk, and trip-hop elements reminiscent of Portishead and Massive Attack, with a unique sense of humor and sass. Their albums, including Do You Like My Tight Sweater? and I Am Not a Doctor, showcased their witty and funky style, culminating in the breakthrough single "Sing It Back." Despite the success of their music, Moloko disbanded in 2002 following the release of their album Statues.
