Mnqobi Yazo, born and raised in rural Kwazulu-Natal village Maphumulo, is a 31-year-old multi-talented musician with a background in acting, voice over, and music composition, production, and performance. His musical journey began in Grade 4 with rapping, and later in Grade 5, he excelled in the Isicathamiya School Group, winning awards for Best Isicathamiya Group. Despite a period of self-doubt in high school, a pivotal encounter at 16 reignited his passion for music, leading him to self-teach music production with software like Frooty Loops.

Post-high school, Mnqobi Yazo enrolled in Creative Arts College, where he explored various art forms and delved into genres like Isicathamiya, Afro Jazz, and Maskandi. Drawing inspiration from these styles, he fused them with modern popular music to create his unique sound that resonates with his fans today.
