Biography
Mixmaster Morris, born Morris Gould, emerged as a DJ in 1982, starting with indie and punk music before venturing into experimental jazz and fusion. He gained recognition in London's pirate-radio scene, adopting the moniker Mixmaster Morris. Transitioning to electronic music, he formed the Irresistible Force and pioneered techno events like Madhouse. His innovative approach to ambient mixes led to collaborations with artists like Meat Beat Manifesto and tours with influential acts such as the Shamen and the Orb.
Throughout the 1990s, Mixmaster Morris solidified his reputation as a leading figure in ambient techno, releasing albums like Flying High and Global Chillage. Despite label issues, he continued to tour globally, performing alongside prominent rock acts like Seefeel and Spiritualized. After a hiatus from recording, he made a comeback with It's Tomorrow Already in 1998, focusing on live performances and his writing for Mixmag.
