Miami Sound Machine

Miami Sound Machine, originally formed in 1975 as the Miami Latin Boys, gained widespread success in the '80s with hits like "Conga!" and "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You." Led by Gloria Estefan, the group transitioned from Spanish albums to English releases, achieving multi-chart success and commercial peaks until a tragic accident in 1990. Despite the setback, Estefan and Miami Sound Machine returned with a renewed focus on traditional Latin music, winning Grammy awards for albums like Mi Tierra and Abriendo Puertas.

The band's lineup underwent changes over the years, with key members departing, including Merci Navarro Murciano in 1982. Emile Estefan, Jr., who co-founded the group, transitioned to a managerial and production role. Following the accident, Miami Sound Machine embraced their Latin roots, leading to critical acclaim and continued success in the music industry.
