Biography

Maywood, a Dutch pop duo formed in 1979 by sisters Alie and Edith de Vries, found success in the Europop scene with hits like "Late at Night," "Give Me Back My Love," and "Rio." Drawing inspiration from ABBA and other Dutch acts, the duo's records were sold in 52 countries and they received accolades at music festivals across the globe. Maywood's popularity in Latin America led to the release of an album featuring Spanish-language covers of their hits. The duo represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1990 before ultimately disbanding in 1995.
