Biography

Ted Stevens, a prominent figure in the Omaha music scene, began his career with the chamber pop group Lullaby for the Working Class in the late '90s. Following the disbandment of Lullaby, Stevens joined Cursive as a guitarist and vocalist, contributing to their breakthrough album Domestica. He also became a touring member of the Good Life, led by his Cursive bandmate Tim Kasher.

In 2002, Stevens formed Mayday, named after an annual concert he organized. The band featured former Lullaby for the Working Class members and a diverse range of musicians from other notable acts. Mayday's debut album, "Old Blood," showcased a blend of Stevens' signature melodic style with Spanish guitar influences and sea shantey themes. The band continued to release music, including the gothic country album "I Know Your Troubles Been Long" in 2003 and "Bushido Karaoke" in 2005, solidifying their presence in the indie music scene.
