Matthew and the Atlas, founded by Matt Hegarty, emerged from the late 00ΓÇÖs folk rock movement in West London. Since its inception, the project has released four albums exploring various musical styles, showcasing HegartyΓÇÖs distinctive songwriting marked by evocative lyrics and a unique vocal delivery. With a dedicated following in Europe and the US, the project continues to evolve, blending acoustic folk, electronica, and alt-rock influences.
For his latest album, Matt Hegarty recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales, collaborating with Kevin Jones to capture a raw, intimate sound. The pair aimed to distill a moment in time and a sense of place into the 11 tracks, emphasizing the magic and immediacy of a lone voice accompanied by a guitar.
