Mark Morrison, the most successful British R&B singer of the mid-90s, achieved global stardom with his hit single "Return of the Mack" in 1996. Born in Hanover, Germany, and raised in Leicester, UK and Florida, US, Morrison made history as the first black male solo artist to top the UK charts in the 90s with his debut album, "Return of the Mack," which spawned multiple Top-10 singles.

Despite facing imprisonment, Morrison continued to make music, releasing tracks like "Who's the Mack!" and "Best Friend" in the late 90s and early 2000s. In 2006, he put out an independent album titled "Innocent Man," featuring a track later sampled by Cassidy. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of his breakthrough hit, Morrison's "Return of the Mack" was remixed and re-released as "The Mack," earning him his 10th UK Top-40 hit and achieving platinum status with over 230 million streams on Spotify.
