Emerging from Florida in the early '90s, Malevolent Creation, originally from Buffalo, New York, played a key role in shaping American death metal with albums like Ten Commandments and Eternal. The band transitioned to a more progressive, technical sound over the years, releasing albums such as Warkult and The 13th Beast.
Inspired by bands like Slayer and Death, Malevolent Creation signed with Roadrunner Records in the early '90s, releasing acclaimed albums like The Ten Commandments and Retribution. Despite lineup changes and label difficulties, the band continued to evolve, with releases on Pavement Music and Century Media, culminating in The 13th Beast in 2019 following the tragic passing of vocalist Brett Hoffmann in 2018.
