Biography

Emerging from the vibrant 90s rock scene in Norway, Madrugada stood out as a unique force with their debut album, "Industrial Silence" (1999), capturing audiences and critics alike with their soulful and intense music. Led by powerhouse vocalist Sivert Høyem, along with Frode Jacobsen's solid bass and Jon Lauvland Pettersen's innovative drumming, the band's sound was both original and timeless. Tragically, guitarist Robert Burås passed away in 2007, leaving a significant void in the band's lineup.

Despite facing challenges in the early 2000s, with Lauvland Pettersen departing after "The Nightly Disease" (2001), Madrugada continued to release impactful albums like "Grit" (2002) and "The Deep End" (2005). Their self-titled album in 2008 marked the end of an era, but songs such as "Majesty," "The Kids Are on High Street," and the poignant duet "Lift Me" with Ane Brun solidified Madrugada's legacy in Norwegian music history.
