Biography

Madball, founded in 1988 as a side project of Agnostic Front members, quickly became a leading force in the N.Y.C. hardcore scene. With a series of EPs and acclaimed albums like Hardcore Lives and For the Cause, the band has maintained their old-school hardcore sound and continued to tour extensively. Despite lineup changes over the years, including collaborations with other artists and labels, Madball remains a prominent figure in the hardcore music scene.

After solidifying their lineup in 1991, Madball signed with Roadrunner Records and released albums like Set It Off and Demonstrating My Style, building a strong fan base beyond their hometown. Following a brief hiatus in 2001, the band returned in 2002 with new members and continued to tour and release new material, including the well-received Empire. With their ninth album, For the Cause, co-produced by Tim Armstrong and featuring a guest appearance from Ice-T, Madball demonstrated their enduring influence and commitment to the hardcore genre.
