Luís Miguel del Amargue, a bachata singer from the Dominican Republic, gained success as a recording artist in Spain before breaking into the American music market in 2009 with the compilation album Mis Canciones. Born in Azua, Dominican Republic, he released his debut album, Amor de una Noche, in 1998, featuring a mix of bachatas and merengues on the independent label Chaira Records.
